Nicolaas Spijker

I build systems so the same effort produces more.

Hi, I'm Nico. I work across go-to-market and product marketing, with 7+ years leading growth programs for B2B SaaS, fintech, and AI tool companies.

Most of my work sits between strategy and execution: positioning, launches, content systems, sales assets, and the workflows that keep small teams moving without adding headcount.

Some common questions

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What does 'plugging in' actually look like day-to-day? +

I join your Slack, work in your tools, and operate as a senior team member, not a vendor sending weekly reports. Some weeks that means writing and shipping. Others it means building a workflow that makes your team 5x faster at a recurring task. The work changes based on what's most valuable. You always see what's in progress and why.

What's the difference between a Sprint and a Retainer? +

A Sprint is a focused 4-week engagement with a fixed scope and fixed price. Good for a defined outcome: a system build, a channel launch, an audit with clear next steps. A Retainer is ongoing. I work across all four Signal Stack layers, not just execution, and scope adjusts quarterly. Most retainers start after a Sprint.

We already have a marketing person. Is this still a fit? +

Usually yes. The most common setup is a founder or junior marketer in Ship mode, producing work but stretched thin with no system underneath. I build the infrastructure so their output multiplies, add the intelligence layer so the work is pointed in the right direction, and document everything so nothing breaks when I leave.

How quickly will we see results? +

A Sprint delivers something usable by the end of week 4. A running pipeline, a launch, an audit with clear next steps. On a Retainer, the first month builds the foundation. Months 2 and 3 are where output typically starts compounding.

What makes this different from hiring a marketing agency? +

Agencies sell capacity. They produce things for you, and you keep paying for them to keep producing. I build systems so your team produces more. The goal is that when I leave, the machine runs better than before I arrived.

Is there a minimum commitment? +

Sprints are 4 weeks, fixed. Retainers have a 3-month minimum. Advisory is month-to-month. If you're not sure where to start, the Sprint is the lowest-risk entry point. It produces something real and we figure out from there whether ongoing work makes sense.
